Children’s Video Series
Skating To The End Of The World
Growing up a country kid
Raising a dancing raccoon
A cowboy’s life
The videos in this series present true stories that will appeal to children, their parents and grandparents, and teachers. They’re about the freedom of a child growing up in the countryside, treasured memories from the 1950s. I’ve narrated these tales from a child’s perspective, with gentle humor, and they’re illustrated with personal photographs from the time.
The stories are a contrast to the concrete and traffic most children are familiar with today.
The child’s adventures include getting caught in a donkey stampede, a fabulous first airplane flight, raising a dancing raccoon, and preparing a special gift for grandparents far away across the ocean.

The title episode, "Skating To The End Of The World," tells a tale of ultimate childhood freedom and parental support. You’ll find it here.
"After skating non-stop for over an hour, " I recall, "my face felt frozen. My toes were cramped and cold inside my tight skates. But I had a good coat, and the exercise was keeping the rest of me comfortably warm.
"Best of all, I was totally independent."
“I love these stories,” exclaimed 8-year-old Emma with a big grin, as her grandpa read the print version of Skating To The End Of The World to her. Unexpectedly, she pulled the book out of his hand. "Now I want to read it to you."
Then she stopped, suddenly philosophical. “But I don't think those adventures could have really have happened. He must have made them up.”
Well, Emma, they really did happen, but it was definitely in a different and simpler age.
