The anchorage near Beaurivage Island, part of the Thousand Islands Parks system, is a favorite among boaters arriving from the west. Protected by encircling islands, the water here is calm, the current negligible. Although tour boats and travelers ply the nearby passage, the anchorage itself is calm and quiet, a place of tranquility.

Some stay for weeks, never venturing further. For those who enjoy hiking, Beaurivage Island offers many lovely forest trails. When it’s time to resupply, boaters follow the tour boat’s route toward the historic town of Gananoque.
