On this site, since 1948, stood Honest Ed’s discount emporium of household goods. Its hokey advertising used phrases like "Only the floors are crooked!" and “Come in and get lost”. It appealed to anyone with a sense of humor, and especially those on a tight budget, immigrants, the poor. Now it’s gone, to be replaced by this dense high-rise home for the masses of newcomers making their home in the city.

I chose this image because of the contrast with the rambling architecture of Honest Ed’s, its strong geometric structure, interesting reflections, and vibrant blues, reds, and whites.
