As fat warm drops of rain begin to fall, I ask Noam if he will drive the dinghy while I take pictures. Like any pre-teen boy with a motor at hand, he eagerly agrees, undaunted by weather.

He expertly manoeuvres my camera platform at the mouth of Bronte Creek, so I’m able to capture a dozen dramatic images. And then the sky opens, the rain pours down in earnest, and we scoot for the protection of the mothership.
